Been meaning to experiment with plants, spices or stuff which provide good materials for making a local version of smudge sticks. I need something which catches fire easily, but is easy to push back into a steady smoulder with lots of smoke...

Dried cinammon sticks, cloves, and peppermint leaves for today. Tried burning the first two, but the cinammon only charred itself (gave off a pleasant scent, though). The cloves sizzled, but didn't smoulder.

Meh. I should dry them more, methinks.

Gonna try more things. Lesse...

1. Pandan leaves (drying now)
2. Lemongrass
3. Dried orange peels
4. Rosemary
5. Lavender
6. Thyme (if I can find it)
7. Coriander
8. Peppermint
9. Parsley
10. Oregano (wonder if it works, though)

I need leaves as binders which would smoulder well. Then maybe stick the cinammon sticks and chopped up leaves live rosemary and peppermint within.

*crosses fingers* Let something work, please.

And oh, gonna make compost the cost efficient way: gonna prepare a box filled with a layer of soil. Everytime I drink tea (or someone does), gonna cut open the tea bag and dump the tea leaves into the box and let them rot and become compost. W00t for natural fertilizers.
