Whoo. Seems like my $80 spent on Sandman: Dream Country, Sandman: Season of Mists, and Justice League of America: Kingdom Come, is well-spent cash indeed.

Kingdom Come was...enlightening. Questions the need for superheroes and meta-humans in the first place. Do we really need a Superman?

Dream Country was...well, I'm impartial to the short stories in them. Not what I'll expect, but written well, nevertheless.

Season of Mists had subtle humor amidst all the darkness. Watching the interaction between Lucifer and Morpheus, Morpheus and Death...they were funny, yes. But in the end, Season of Mists was forebooding, and melancholic. Destiny is chained to his Book; Dream and Nada are still separated; where is the Prodigal--Destruction?; reconcilation with Orpheus in the next book?; all leading to The Wake.

The Gardens of Destiny are subjected to the whims of Fate,
but the Fates do not rule;
Dreams are Morpheus are Shaper are Sands,
The Wake kills not the Lord of Dreams.
